"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
-Neile Donald Walsch-
Clients often ask, "What is family therapy? How does Marriage Counseling work?" All therapists approach problems based on their theoretical training. As a family therapist, I approach problems from a systemic viewpoint, which means that I look at how you function in all of the important areas of your life: family, work, school, community. I help you identify what helps you achieve what you want, what may be getting in the way of success and collaboratively develop ways for you to use more of what works and less of what doesn't. Important people in your life may be invited to join a session to provide added perspective or support.
I believe that you are the expert on your life and that the answers reside within you. Sessions are designed to be respectful, solution-focused and strength-based so that you are able to build your skill base and complete treatment as quickly as possible.
Making the decision to seek therapy is not a decision that is made lightly. I will work with you to formulate goals and to help you take the steps necessary to achieve them. You have several options to GET STARTED:
How much does therapy or counseling cost? Before your scheduled appointment please contact your insurance company to learn what your financial responsibility will be. Insurance plans vary widely and it takes several weeks before they begin to pay; you can avoid the possibility of a large payment by being prepared and understanding your financial responsibility before beginning treatment.
Concerns about payment should not prevent you from seeking help. To reach the broadest population, JMB Family Counseling, LLC accepts multiple insurance plans: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare (UBH), Oxford, Tricare, Husky, Beacon Health and Value Options. For out-of-network plans, I will provide you with a paid invoice to submit for reimbursement. A sliding scale fee schedule is available for those without insurance or those who choose not to use insurance. If you are concerned about cost, please contact me and I will work with you to develop a payment plan that is comfortable for you.
